The Embassy of Sweden and the Consulate General of Sweden are pleased to
announce the opening of the visa application centre in Beijing and Shanghai.
This service is available for Chinese residents/other country nationals legally
residing in China who wish to apply for a Schengen visa to Sweden. This site
provides details related to your application submission and collection process
along with other useful information you need to know.
Applicants who wish to apply for a visa are requested to kindly read the
information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to
help you to prepare your documents accurately and will reduce the risks of your
application being incomplete or take a longer time to being processed.
The visa applications are to be submitted at the Swedish Visa application
centre in Beijing and Shanghai in accordance with the jurisdiction specified.
The visa application centre will accept Schengen visa (Short term) applications
only. The applications must be submitted either by the applicant in person or
by accredited representative (couriers) on behalf of the applicant i.e. should
not be sent by post. All applications collected by the visa application centre
will be assessed by the Embassy of Sweden, located in Beijing / the Consulate
General of Sweden, located at Shanghai.

All applications collected by the visa application centre will be sent to the
Embassy of Sweden/ Consulate General of Sweden for assessment and resolution.
Visa application centre staff has no say in the visa decisions taken by the
Embassy/ Consulate General.
:In order to receive a SCHENGEN-visa from the
Embassy/ Consulate General of Sweden in China your main destination must be
SWEDEN or the longest part of your stay must be within Sweden. If you plan to
visit several Schengen countries and the duration of the stay in those
countries is the same then the visa shall be lodged at the Embassy/Consulate of
the Member State whose external border you intend to cross in order to enter
the Schengen territory.
A shortterm visa normally takes about 15 calendar days to process, not
including the day you lodge the application. Your application can be lodged
earliest 3 months before the start of the intended visit and at least 15
calendar days before your intended departure.
